Summer Film Series: A Passion for Fashion series kicks off Thursday, June 14 with Belle de Jour, surreal and erotic daydream from 1967 with Catherine Deneuve as a Paris housewife who spends her afternoons in a bordello. The First Monday in May on July 19 gives an intimate behind-the-scenes view of NYC’s Met Ball, “the Super Bowl of Fashionistas.” The controversial The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover with costumes by Jean Paul Gaultier screens on August 16, and Antonio Lopez 1970: Sex Fashion & Disco—a look at the life of the dominant fashion illustrator of his time—closes out the series on September 20.
A specialty cocktail, created for each movie, along with beer and wine will be available at Persimmon Bistro and the outdoor garden. The cocktails will be available from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., with the films starting at 6 p.m. Admission is free and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Films are subject to change.
