Desert Connect

Fall 2024 Inaugural Edition
Start

On November 21, 2024, as the desert sun dipped below the horizon and the sky transitioned into a canvas of twilight hues, Desert Connect welcomed approximately 120 guests to the beautiful grounds of Mojave Resort in Palm Desert, California.

The event offered an inviting blend of sophistication, warmth, and community spirit, bringing together an eclectic mix of attendees eager to explore the venue, network, and celebrate the art of connection.

Culinary Highlights

The evening’s culinary experience was experfully curated by the Wild Thyme Group, with Molé Mexican Kitchen helming the food station. Executive Chef Roberto Madrid was on-site, presenting an array of light bites that exceeded expectations. Guests were treated to the Guaca-Crab “Jarocho”—a fusion of freshly made guacamole topped with citrus-infused crab and a crispy plantain chip—and the Pollo Loco Mini Taco, adorned with jicama pico de gallo and roasted serrano pepper. The dedication and creativity of Chef Madrid and his team were evident in every bite, garnering positive reviews from attendees.

Closing Remarks

In a speech, Coachella Magazine founder thanked the community and reflected on the magazine’s journey over the past decade:

As we head into the holiday season, let’s take a moment to express gratitude. First and foremost, thank you to Mojave Resort for hosting us tonight and for your generous hospitality. Thank you to all of you for attending, and a special thanks to our sponsors and vendors—this event wouldn’t be possible without your support.

Tonight, we also mark a special milestone: Coachella Magazine’s 10th anniversary. Over the past decade, we’ve experienced highs, weathered lows, and even navigated a global pandemic. What has stood out most to me during these years are the stories—stories from Coachella Valley residents, artists, entrepreneurs, travelers, and so many others. These stories connect us, remind us of our shared hopes and dreams, and keep us inspired.

Some of the best stories are the ones that haven’t been told yet. They’re the stories of up-and-coming artists, chefs at local restaurants, or entrepreneurs taking their first steps. These are the stories that keep me inspired and motivated every day. And events like tonight remind me that we can’t do it alone—it takes a team effort. From the food and drinks to the music, vendors, and this beautiful venue at Mojave Resort, tonight is a testament to the power of collaboration.

When I was young, I believed in one simple mantra: Anything is possible. It’s a belief that has guided me through life and helped me take the leap to start Coachella Magazine. That leap has brought me experiences beyond anything I could have imagined.

I won’t take up too much more of your time, but if there’s one thing I hope you take away from tonight—whether you’re starting a new project, planning your next trip, or building new connections—it’s this: Believe that anything is possible.

So let’s raise a glass to that belief, to Coachella Magazine’s 10th anniversary, and to all of you for making tonight so special. And as a treat, please enjoy a slice of cake crafted by the talented local bakers Con Amor, Nina y Leon.
