Two legendary photographers whose lenses have shaped the visual history of music and entertainment are bringing their work to the desert this spring. Desert Rocks, a new music photography exhibition featuring famed photographers Harry Langdon and Jimmy Steinfeldt, opens with a public reception on March 12, 2026, from 5–7 p.m. at the Artists Center in Palm Desert.
Presented in association with Through The Lens, the exhibit showcases and offers for sale original photographic prints capturing some of the most influential artists and performers of the past several decades. Visitors can expect to see striking images of icons such as Frank Sinatra, Diana Ross, Cher, Radiohead, Eric Clapton, Ann-Margret, Nancy Sinatra, Herb Alpert, and many more—each frozen in moments that reveal far more than celebrity.

Harry Langdon is widely regarded as one of Hollywood’s most respected celebrity photographers, known for portraits that transcend surface glamour. Over the course of his career, Langdon has photographed a who’s who of film, music, sports, and culture, including Angelina Jolie, Serena Williams, Halle Berry, and Diana Ross. His work is defined by an intimate, human approach—seeking authenticity, vulnerability, and a glimpse into the subject’s inner spirit. That philosophy has made his images timeless and his access highly sought after.
Joining him is Jimmy Steinfeldt, a veteran rock ’n’ roll photographer whose career has been fueled by instinct, passion, and a deep connection to music. Steinfeldt has photographed everyone from The Rolling Stones and Miles Davis to Radiohead and the Ramones, with his work appearing in publications such as Rolling Stone, Time, Spin, and The Los Angeles Times. A two-time Los Angeles Music Awards Photographer of the Year, Steinfeldt’s raw, expressive style tells the story of the artist as much as the music itself. His desert-based studio near Palm Springs has long been a creative refuge for musicians and filmmakers alike.
Together, Langdon and Steinfeldt offer two distinct yet complementary perspectives on fame, artistry, and legacy. Desert Rocks is more than a photography exhibit—it’s a visual journey through decades of music history, told by two masters who were there to capture it.
