The inaugural DESERT RODEO, California’s newest ProRodeo, is set to debut April 25-27, 2025, at the Desert International Horse Park in Thermal, California. Timed to coincide with the state’s biggest country music weekend, this three-day event will blend professional rodeo, festival vibes, and Western retail, creating a dynamic new experience in the Coachella Valley.
A New Take on Rodeo & Festival Culture
Founded by Brett Lazar and Traci Brooks, Desert Rodeo aims to merge the heritage of the Old West with today’s festival energy. Sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), the event will feature elite competitions produced by Flying U Rodeo. “Desert Rodeo is perfectly positioned to amplify the growing enthusiasm for country culture,” says Brooks.

• Pro Rodeo Action: Watch top-tier cowboys and cowgirls compete in events like bull riding and barrel racing.

• Golden Rodeo: Desert Rodeo will support Golden Circle of Champions, benefiting children battling pediatric cancer, and will also donate a portion of ticket proceeds to the Los Angeles Fire Department in response to recent wildfires.
