Rising Shoegaze Stars Release New EP Quiet Pleasures
Start

As part of the growing American shoegaze renaissance, Phoenix-based band Glixen is making waves with their latest EP, Quiet Pleasures. Known for their immersive “wall of sound” performances, the four-piece—led by vocalist Aislinn Ritchie, alongside guitarist Esteban Santana, drummer Keire Johnson, and bassist Sonia Garcia—has drawn comparisons to genre icons like My Bloody Valentine and Hum, while infusing their music with influences ranging from Björk to t.A.T.u.

Since forming in 2020, Glixen has steadily built momentum, landing tours with Interpol, DIIV, Narrow Head, and Nothing, and earning a devoted following in the national DIY scene. Their previous EP, She Only Said, released via Philly’s Julia’s War Records, cemented their reputation as a band to watch. Working with acclaimed producers Jack Endino (Nirvana) and Sonny DiPerri (My Bloody Valentine, DIIV), the band continues to refine their signature blend of ethereal vocals and crushing instrumentals.

Now, Glixen is set to take the stage at Coachella Festival on Friday, April 11 & 18, marking a major milestone in their rising career. They’ll also be in Los Angeles from April 8 to April 20 between performances—perfect timing for those looking to catch them outside the festival.
