This late summer, Palm Desert’s Flat Black Gallery is turning up the heat — literally and artistically — with its new group exhibition, Sunburned. Opening Saturday, August 30, the show brings together 17 artists who channel the intensity, color, and energy of the desert under the California sun.
Curated by gallery owner Pete Salcido, Sunburned blends urban art, sculpture, illustration, and contemporary creativity into one immersive experience. “Flat Black has always been about community and culture,” Salcido says.

Among the highlights is the gallery debut of an 11-year-old spray paint prodigy, whose first professional pieces will hang alongside seasoned local and international artists.
