Genre-blurring artist Tei Shi is making her way to Pioneertown for a one-night-only intimate performance on May 16, backed by a full live band. Known for her ethereal sound and bilingual artistry, the critically acclaimed singer will reimagine selections from her discography — including her latest album Valerie — alongside fresh takes on pop, jazz, and Latin American classics.
The show promises a cross-cultural, genre-defying experience that highlights Tei Shi’s bold creative evolution. She recently released her new single “Best Be Leaving,” channeling high-gloss ‘90s Madonna energy and signaling the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
The Colombian-Canadian artist has captivated audiences with recent sold-out jazz club sets in LA and NYC, and also stepped into the theater world with a powerful role in I Can’t Make Sense, a new play by frequent collaborator Vogue Giambri.
With praise from Pitchfork, NPR, PAPER, Remezcla, and The FADER, Tei Shi continues to cement her place as one of today’s most magnetic and boundary-pushing performers.
