As we enter Spring… or whatever California wants to call this… we know that festival season is just around the corner and our favorite ferris wheel will soon be giving us the best views of the desert landscape. That’s right, Coachella Music & Arts Festival is already only weeks away!
It’s hard enough to figure out how to dress for Coachella, but with the recent weather surprises, you might be wondering how to plan ahead and still pull-off the perfect desert fashion looks. Fortunately, some things are here to stay, so let’s have a flashback of last year’s style moments that have become staples at the festival. We may not be able to forecast the weather, but these Coachella 2023 predictions have our confidence!
1. Neon Attire
There is something about neon that just goes hand-in-hand with a sunny day! Plus, if you’re lucky enough to be invited to the carnival after-hours, you will already be dressed to the theme… a 2-for-1 deal!
2. Crowns
Remember when flower crowns became the token accessory of festivals? Well, flower crowns and sun crowns alike have proven to be more than just a trend. It’s basically the cherry on top!
3. A Good Ol’ Matching Set
How could one possibly make a festival fashion list without including the never-failing matching sets! This is one sure way to always look put together and like you know what you’re doing… even if you don’t… but we won’t tell!
4. Cowgirl Princess / Western Glam
What can we say… some people love to saddle up before Stagecoach’s appearance while the grass is still green! Hey, who can blame ‘em?
5. Fringe / Chaps
On the western topic, these deserved a mention of their own as they have transformed into new and dynamic styling! The fun movement of fringe and the eye candy of chaps can turn any simple outfit into a head-turning moment!
6. Denim + Statement Top
Speaking of transforming something simple, there’s nothing more tried-and-true than throwing on some denim and giving all the focus to your top! Besides… when you’re deep in the crowds of your favorite musicians, nobody’s really looking down anyways.
7. Use Your Words
If you want your message to be loud and clear, why not just put it in words?! There’s no time to waste when the Coachella lineup is always overlapping sets we need to catch!
8. Mini Bags
Optimize your stage hopping by traveling light with mini bags and small crossbodies. With all the amenities and conveniences, how many essentials does one even need to carry?
9. Face, Body & Hair Decorations
Sometimes you don’t really have to do much with your clothing, when you can have a little fun making your face (or body) a canvas for art! There’s really no wrong answers here.
10. Icebreaker Sunglasses
Good chance it will be notoriously hot outside, so break some ice with cool, unique sunglasses! An interesting pair of sunglasses might help you find your forever festival buddy when people approach you nonstop!
11. Time Travel
Still can’t believe we’re in the year of 2023? It’s okay to revisit the past for the weekend. Heck, that’s what this whole page has been about! No judgment here.
12. Minimalist vs. Maximum Coverage
Truly a personal preference and both are equally acceptable. Maybe one day you want to acquire that glowing, desert tan and the next day combat the blowing sand. Either way, the answer is yes!
Ultimately, knowing what to wear for Coachella 2023 is all about what you feel comfortable and your best in! There’s no rules except to have a great time!
