A Chic, New Boutique Has Emerged

Story by Erika Bardere

Palm Springs welcomes a new boutique hotel that is an idyllic desert hideaway. It brings a warm, elegant and inviting atmosphere for decompressing anywhere on its property, from the intimate lounge at its entry, to the oversized suites, and poolside seating. Its subtle appearance blends seamlessly into the environment and holds an oasis within that guests won’t want to overlook. Here is a glance inside what the Drift has to offer its guests.

The Property

Perfectly situated in the center of Downtown, sits the understated-yet-harmonious Drift Palm Springs, with its neutral, desert tones and open-air Spanish architecture, imagined by o2 Architecture and Folklor

The boutique hotel wraps around a classic resort-style pool, excellent for lounging with a cocktail and admiring the surrounding San Jacinto mountains. Featured throughout are contemporary illustrations from Sean Spellman on the building walls and picturesque cacti lining the pathways, plus furniture by notable designer WAKA-WAKA.

Upon arrival, guests are able to immediately transition into relaxation, as there will not be a lobby desk to wait at. Instead, you will find a text and email with check-in instructions. To further the guest experience, there is a digital concierge available from 5am – 8pm (PST) that can provide you with recommendations or housekeeping needs.

This property is also available to accommodate those looking to host business meetings or events.

Spacious Suites

From studios, up to 4-bedroom suites, each of the five room types allow you and accompanying guests to truly stretch and expand on your vacation. The rooms all provide plenty of fresh desert air, natural light, and a tranquil interior. The furnishings are from Mexican craft designers: Luteca, Minna, and Veta. With either a patio or balcony and its large windows, the desert landscape becomes an ever-changing art included in your stay.

For the utmost luxury of comfort, bedroom suites offer a full, sleek kitchen that opens to a chic living room adorned with books, natural accent pieces, and beautiful textiles. A stocked pantry and mini bar is present for a convenient experience.

The seasonal menu is curated for a sharable dining experience of upscale, rustic cuisine. Maleza’s opening features presently include plates such as – grilled corn esquites on smoked bone marrow, chile relleno with soy chorizo and almond mole, and red fish filet aside sautéed spinach and guajillo mojo.
