The Palm Springs International Film Festival

The Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) has announced their 2023 festival lineup. The festival will open with the World Premiere of Paramount Pictures’ “80 For Brady” with Jane Fonda, Sally Field, Rita Moreno and Lily Tomlin scheduled to attend on January 6, 2023.

The festival will close with “The Lost King,” and hold the World Premiere screening of “Shot in the Arm,” with director Scott Hamilton Kennedy and subject Neil deGrasse Tyson scheduled to attend.  The festival will screen 35 of the International Feature Film Oscar Submissions, and showcase films featuring Juliette Binoche, LeVar Burton, Eugenio Derbez, Colin Farrell, Jim Gaffigan, Luca Guadagino, Mia Hansen-Løve, Lasse Hallström, Sally Hawkins, Anna Kendrick, Udo Kier, Vicky Krieps, Eva Longoria, Lena Olin, Ray Romano, Tim Roth, Rhea Seehorn, Léa Seydoux, Paul Weitz, Olivia Wilde, Stephen Williams, Alex Wolff and more.

The Festival will also hold its annual star-studded black-tie Film Awards, presented by American Express, on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at the Palm Springs Convention Center. The event will honor individuals in the film industry with awards for acting, directing, and lifetime achievement. 


The Palm Springs International Film Awards has announced that Colin Farrell is the recipient of the Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actor for his performance in The Banshees of Inisherin.

Variety announced their 10 Directors to Watch for 2023. The directors selected for this year’s list will be honored in person on January 6, 2023 at the Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) during a private brunch event.

The Palm Springs International Film Awards has announced that The Fabelmans is the recipient of the Vanguard Award.

The Vanguard Award is a group honor distinguishing a film’s cast and director in recognition of their collective work on an exceptional film project. The award will be presented to director Steven Spielberg and cast members Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, Seth Rogen, Gabriel LaBelle and Judd Hirsch who are all expected to attend.

The Palm Springs International Film Awards has announced that Austin Butler is the recipient of the Breakthrough Performance Award for his performance in Elvis.

Variety will honor “Elvis” director Baz Luhrmann with the Creative Impact in Directing Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. The award will be presented on Friday, January 6th as part of the annual 10 Directors to Watch brunch at the Parker Palm Springs. The film’s star, Austin Butler, will be on hand to present Luhrmann with the award. Butler will receive the Breakthrough Performance Award, Actor at the festival’s Film Awards ceremony on Thursday, January 5th.

The Palm Springs International Film Awards has announced that Viola Davis is the recipient of the Chairman’s Award recognizing her work as an actress and producer for The Woman King.
