Wellness Weekend On Miracle Hill

Start

Desert Hot Springs has long been defined by what lies beneath it. Beneath the streets of Miracle Hill, naturally occurring geothermal aquifers feed the mineral waters that have drawn visitors to the city for generations. Today, those waters are becoming part of a broader wellness culture—one that brings together independent hotels, practitioners, health experts, movement teachers and travelers looking for something beyond the traditional spa weekend.

That idea will take shape October 16–18 with Wellness Weekend on Miracle Hill, a three-day experience organized by the Miracle Hill Spas Association and spread across ten participating hotels and mineral hot springs properties throughout Desert Hot Springs.

Rather than putting everything under one roof, the weekend invites guests to move through Spa City itself.

Talks, workshops, yoga, meditation, sound therapy, restorative practices and other experiences will take place at participating properties, creating an itinerary that can be explored one stop at a time. The format is part wellness program, part destination discovery—and a reflection of the independent character of Desert Hot Springs itself.

The programming brings together physicians, wellness practitioners, authors and educators for conversations ranging from naturopathic medicine and proactive cardiac care to lifestyle medicine, menopausal skincare, mindfulness and nervous-system regulation.

Other sessions take a more experiential approach, including sound healing, laughter yoga, movement, therapeutic practices and explorations of plant-based wellness. Yogi Narayani Sweeney will lead a session on rhythm, mantras and the relationship between voice, body and healing, while Ted Gibson’s “The Mushroom Mindset” looks at clarity, creativity, reinvention and the role of daily rituals.

There will also be opportunities to step outside the programming altogether. Select participating properties will offer discounted mineral soaking day passes to ticket holders, making the geothermal waters themselves part of the weekend’s itinerary.

That connection to the water is significant. Desert Hot Springs sits above both hot and cold mineral aquifers, and its collection of independently operated soaking destinations has long given the city a character distinct from the larger resort communities elsewhere in the Coachella Valley. Wellness Weekend builds on that history while introducing visitors to the people and practices shaping its next chapter.

The weekend also reflects a growing interest in wellness travel that goes beyond a massage or a poolside afternoon. Its programming moves between conventional health conversations and more holistic practices, creating room for guests to explore nutrition, restorative sleep, movement, mindfulness, sound and other approaches to well-being.

On Friday evening, a VIP opening reception at Azure Palm Hot Springs will bring together participating practitioners, speakers, property representatives and guests to officially open the weekend.

From there, the experience continues across Miracle Hill through Sunday, with three-day VIP and standard passes as well as single-day options available.

For Desert Hot Springs, the larger idea extends beyond one October weekend. By connecting its mineral-water properties with the practitioners and businesses working throughout the wellness community, the Miracle Hill Spas Association is looking to create a more interconnected destination—one where the hotels themselves become part of the experience rather than simply places to stay.

For visitors, that means the weekend can be approached less like a conference and more like a field trip through Spa City: a morning class at one property, a conversation or workshop at another, time in the mineral water, and perhaps a new corner of Desert Hot Springs discovered along the way.

Wellness Weekend on Miracle Hill takes place October 16–18, 2026, in Desert Hot Springs. Three-day VIP and standard passes, along with single-day tickets, are available. Some soaking experiences and specialized programming require separate reservations or additional fees.
